Air Chief Visits Leh And Ladakh Sector

Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha, the Chief of the Air Staff was on a visit to operations bases at Leh and Ladakh sector, which operate in an environment with the most hostile terrain and weather conditions, especially during winter season. 

This is his first visit after he took over as Air Force Chief on 31 Dec 2013. On arrival he was briefed on the prevailing situation in the region by Lt Gen Rakesh Sharma, the Corps Commander and interacted with Army personnel to provide an impetus to jointness with the Army.

 The AOC, Air Cmde R Isser updated the CAS on the progress of significant infrastructure projects in Leh and Ladakh Sector. 

“Our air warriors are performing exceptionally well under very harsh geographical conditions but are committed to ensure that supplies to forward areas are not affected adversely even during bad weather”. 

In keeping with the mission statement of the IAF ‘People First Mission Always’ this maiden visit of the Chief will certainly bolster the commitment of the leadership to the IAF’s mission statement. 

Air Chief Marshal Raha interacted with all the personnel and obtained their views on variety of operational and administrative issues.
